"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

After driving 1/2 an hour and standing in line over an hour with lots of screaming, restless kids, Alex finally got his turn to meet Santa! As you can see he was thrilled! (after he checked Santa out first!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

LOVE IS BAJA...KWerner's #35/Laura's Sketch #15...

My entry for Kristina's Color Inspiration #35 and Laura's (2 Sketches 4 You) Sketch #15 this week shows off Stampin' Up!'s Valentine's Bundle~ Love You Much stamp Set and Heart to Heart Punch! (Bundle also uncludes designer paper not shown on this card.) Starting December 23 through January 31, 2009, you can get this bundle for yourself for 20% off! YAY!
I got lucky last night~ Alex went to bed & I went online to find some inspiration & saw that Kristina had already posted the challenge. I work full time & usually can't get to it until the late evening on Tuesdays!
I used SU!'s Scallop Border punch on this card, as well... I punched it normally, then punched it again (lining up the bottom of the punched scallops between the scallops of the tool) and created the "pinking". I also used the Aida background on the saffron paper, as well as saffron brads.
Thank you so much for looking!

FROSTY the SNOW[cupcake]MAN~ TECC#46/ SJCI#15

Okay, I know you think I've gone mad, I know these are not 'Christmasy' colors, but I thought they were lovely for a non-traditional Christmas card! Here's my take on Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #46 and Stacey's Jewelry Color Inspiration #15.
If you need some inspiration/motivation, please consider breaking out your supplies and participate in these or other challenges! I have a list for every day of the week over on the right hand side of this post!
The images are obviously from Taylored Expressions Stamps, called Home Sweet Home. I just love this little guy, isn't he adorable?
All the paper is Stampin' Up!, Pumpkin Pie, Lovely Lilac, and Bravo Burgundy. I also used some designer paper, Parisian Summer. The scallop edge punch is also from SU!.

Snappy Stamping to ya,

Here's another card for both Stacey's Jewelry Color Inspiration #14 and Kazan's Sketch #15, from 2 Sketches 4 You (http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/). I love color & sketch challenges so this was FUN!

I used my newest Marvy corner punch, some Martha glitter on the garland (sorry- I know it's hard to tell) and some sticky rhinestone bling! The stamp is from a retired SU! set... this was the first time I inked it up!

Have a great night!

PCP Color Challenge #4/ AmyR's Friday Sketch! #40

I decided to play along with PCP's (Paper Craft Planet) Color Challenge #4, and combine it with Amy's (from Prairie Paper and Ink) Friday Sketch! #40... maybe the end result is a bit too busy?
It was a pretty quick card again, as it seems Alex has hit a growth spurt & when I'm around all he wants to do is eat! As a matter of fact, he kept me up pretty much all night last night... and I've been running on empty all day...

Well, he's hungry again, so bye for now!

KWERNER's Color Inspiration #34 / Mojo Monday #64

I've decided trying to use 5 colors in a single card is really tricky! This is my entry for both Kristina's Color Inspiration and Julee's Mojo Monday.
Obviously I didn't totally stick to the exact Mojo sketch, I really wanted to do a square card.
The stamped tree is from SU's Holiday Mini, called Scandinavian Season. I've really enjoyed this set! The sentiment is Punches Three, a hostess set which you can earn with a minimum personal or workshop order of $150. I used my handy VersaMarker to ink the sentiment only & then embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP. I used crystal effects on the celery & sage parts of the tree, and also the inside of the pale plum flower, which I dusted in clear glitter. A rhinestone sits in the middle of the flower.
I also used a couple of Martha Stewart punches~ for the 'lace' & for the ribbon holes, the latter of which I threaded white organza ribbon. I also used SU's Ticket Corner punch and retired Corner Rounder punch.
This simple card took many hours, my 6 month old hasn't been wanting to sleep lately~ only play... and play... and play! I can't wait until he can stamp!

Have a great day!

AMYR's Friday Sketch! #39...

Another quick card for the night, inspired by Amy R.'s Friday Sketch!... don't look too close, my Iridescent Ice embossing looks like it got smudged!

CSCC # 8 -Miracle on 34th Street

Here's my take on Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #8. I haven't seen the movie in years, but the one part I remember is when they brings the huge bags of letters to Santa Claus into the court room. That's my favorite part!

So I found an image online, which I turned into a brownish monochrome, printed out 3 copies, and cut out some of the 'envelopes' onto Very Vanilla cardstock. The I colored in the stamps using mostly Soft Subtles Stampin' Write Markers & distressed the edges with Close to Cocoa.
The 'letters to Santa' were layered using Dimensionals. The Santa stamp is a retired SU! set called Yuletide Montage~ it is very much one of my favorites! What is difficult to see is the white glitter on his hat & beard... also I used my Copics for the first time to color him in. I still need a lot of practice!

With Alex asleep, I think I'll try to eat dinner & stamp a little more. Thank you so much for looking, I really do appreciate it!
