"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

RASPBERRY ESSENCE...

I made this card last weekend based on a design team call sketch for 2sketches4you ~ I don't remember if it was Kazan's or Laura's. Anyway, I thought it was a cute sketch! My good friend Tanja (hi Tanja) seemed pretty excited that I had sent in an application, but I'm being pretty stoic about the whole thing. I just like to stamp, but I figure 'you'll never know unless you put yourself out there'!

Whatever the outcome, I still love to stamp like crazy & fit in as many challenges as I can each week!

This is an old mini set, called Essence of Love, that I wish had made it into to catty. I used Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, and Cameo Coral, and also Raspberry Tart DSP. It's hard to tell, but the little butterfly was cut out & sits on the card 3-D.
Here's how I did the central image:
  1. I stamped the full leafy vine image in Kiwi Kiss on the speckled cardstock.
  2. I stamped the image a second time in Kiwi Kiss ink onto a scrap of Cameo Coral cardstock.
  3. I then used a blender pen to pick up ink from the Kiwi Kiss classic ink pad & color in the vines & leaves on the stamp. I used SU! markers (Cameo Coral and Rose Red) to color in the stamp's flowers. When it was all inked up I 'huffed & puffed' onto the stamp [to re-moisten the ink] and stamped it a thinrd time onto a scrap of speckled cardstock.
  4. From the multi-colored image, I punched out a circle from around the middle and matched it up & glued it onto the stamped Coral piece.
  5. Then I took a larger punch & punched the Coral piece.

Bye for now~

NO PLACE LIKE HOME (is where the heart is) / CSCC16...

My entry for this week's Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #16 - The Wizard of Oz. Kinda wacky title, I know...
We had to use something metallic, so I had the idea to use my Big Shot for that. I recycled a soda can by cutting the ends off & opening it up. First I used my scallop rectangle nestabilities to cut out the shape & then I put it through the Big Shot again in the swirly embossing folder. The card base is Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Candy Lane DSP. I stamped the heart from Love You Much (Stampin' Up!) using a glue pad and dusted it with Martha Stewart's garnet glitter. The metal piece is attached with eyelets, since it was trying to roll back up!

Have a great Friday!

GARDEN OF CUPCAKES / TECC52MD...

I'll be back w/ the info later...

LEANING TOWER OF CUPCAKES / TECC52AW...

Sorry~ I'll have to write more later...

CUPCAKE w/ HANDLES?!? / TECC52SS...

Sorry~ in my attempt to finish Taylor's 1 Year Anniversary Challenge, everything has started looking like a cupcake to me! Including this mug of beer from STampin' Up!'s Cheers to You set! I added a candle & there you have it... a cupcake with a handle! Enjoy!

NOT A CUPCAKE...but just as sweet! / TECC52JS...

Here's #6 - whew! Sketch is courtesy of Jami from Taylor's Cupcake Crew, for Taylored Expression's One Year Cupcake Challenge Anniversary!

I used a new Level 3 hostess set from Stampin' Up! for this one, called Goody-Goody Gumdrops! What a cute set! Anyone who has a catalog party or workshop at the $500 level can choose to get this set for free!
I used Cameo Coral, Rose Red & Kiwi Kiss cardstock, as well as Raspberry Tart DSP. It's hard to see, but there's a little glitter on the ice cream & the cherry and the tall ice cream glass are coated with Crystal Effects. The ice cream is paper pieced... I've been doing a lot of that lately!
Enjoy!

PARTY HEARTY~ SOME MORE! / TECC52JP...

I'm halfway there... #5! This sketch for TECC's Anniversary Celebration was provided by Jackie! Isn't it cute!

I used Party Hearty by Stampin' Up!, as well as bunches o' punches! I stamped the round sentiment in basic black on Kraft, Very Vanilla, and Riding Hood Red cardstock and punched them out with the 1-3/4 in., 1-3/8 in., & 1-1/4 in. circles punches, respectively & then layered them. The 2 larger circles were done with my Big Shot and circle nestabilites. (It was really hard not to use my scalloped circles... but I wanted this to be a guy card) The cupcake was punched from Candy Lane DSP.

Only 4 to go...

TIME TO PARTY / TECC52SH...

My 4th card is based on Stephanie's sketch for Taylored Expression's Sketch Anniversary Celabration.

For this card I used my curly label punch for the cupcake/sentiment from the stamp set Time to Party, both by Stampin' Up! I stamped the cupcake top in Riding Hood Red onto So Saffron & paper pieced it on the image that I had stamped in Pumpkin Pie. I ran my Pumpkin Pie cardstock through my Big ShotLink using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The top of the card is Washington Apple DSP.

Bye for now~

A HAPPY HEART (wrapped in ribbons) / TECC52VC...

An awesome 3rd sketch for Taylor's Challenge brought to us by Vicki!

I went a little crazy with the ribbon, but I really LOVE ribbon! I thought the lines in Vicki's sketch could best be respresented by ribbon...

The stamps are by Stampin' Up! ~ I used A Happy Heart & Crazy for Cupcakes. I paper-pieced the little cupcakes to put onto the tic-tac-toe board. The colors used are Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, and Barvo Burgundy.

3 down...

STITCHED SHERBERT-Y CUPCAKE / TECC52TV...

This is one of nine cards I'll be doing this week for Taylored Expression's celebration of a Year of Cupcake Challenges! YAY! Yes, I know 9 cards is a tall order when you work full time & have a teething 7 1/2 month old at home & a husband that works nights... BUT THAT'S WHY IT'S A CHALLENGE, RIGHT?
Anyway, I used Stampin' Up!'s Party Hearty stamp set for this card. The DSP is also Stampin' Up!, Tangerine Tango Patterns. I inked the cupcake in Only Orange & Gable Green and the candle in Tangerine Tango & Apricot Appeal... then I shaded them in the same colors of SU! Watercolor Crayon. I added some faux stitching with a Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen, punched out the DSP with a Martha Stewart scalloped border punch, and added a couple Making Memories cute little button brads.

One down and 8 to go!

ALL THAT & A GIANT CUPCAKE / TECC52DB...

Sketch #2 for TECC's One Year Celebration, courtesy of Donna. What a terrific sketch~ I love it!
I pulled out my retired Stampin' Up! set, She's All That, man how I wish it were still available in the catty! It was in a mini-catalog last year and it's so funky! I used stickles and a rhinestone for the cupake, which was punched (Martha Stewart cupcake punch). I also used SU!'s 1-1/4 inch square punch for the squares along the outside of the image, punched from Urban Garden DSP, also SU!. The colors are Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy & Kiwi Kiss. I also used my Nestabilites for the scalloped frame around the image!
Thanks for looking!

PIZAZZ-Y THANKS / PCS #55...

More info tomorrow, night night!

A NOTE / CSCC #15 - Casablanca...

For this week's inspiration challenge over at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, I "pulled out all the punches" (sorry~ I couldn't help myself! LOL!) and created a piano keys as my take on Casablanca. One aspect of the challenge that I failed to notice was that we could only use black, white & one other color. Well~ serendipity!
The piano keys are just strips of white & I used the Stampin' Up! corner rounder punch (the narrow one) to round off the bottom of the keys. The black keys were done the same way! I used Martha Stewart little ball point pen glue & glitter for the sentiment, which I wrote onto a curly label punched piece.
Good night,
