"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SCALLOPPED PUMPKINS / ACT8 & 2S4Y Bonus...

YAY YAY YAY! I was picked to be the Curtain Call Show Stopper this week!!! Thank you SO MUCH, Stacey!
These cool pumpkins were made with the Scallop Circle and Scallop Oval punches...

For the Curtain Call Color Challenge this week, I decided to use the bonus sketch from 2S4Y!

I've been seeing some uses of the Scallop Circle punch used for 3-D images... so I used it to make a pumkin & then decided to use the Scallop Oval to make a shorter pumpkin. Each pumpkin took 8 punched out shapes, folded in half & glued together. The dsp is also from Stampin' Up!, called Night & Day, I really love this paper! The pumpkin's stems & the buttons have a small strip of paper from Cast-A-Spell dsp. The sentiment is from a hostess level 1 set, called Holiday Best. The buttons are from SU!'s Sherbert Designer Buttons, and the grosgrain is Pumpkin Pie.

Thanks so much for looking, and thank you again, Stacey!

TISSUE FLOWER (a la MONA) / CTD #66, MTSC #45 & JUGS4...

When I saw Mona's cool tutorial, I knew I had to make a tissue flower!

I used the awesome colors from this week's Color Throwdown for this card, paired with a very elegant sketch by Mercy, and the cool 3-D flower challenge over at Just Us Girls. You can find Mona's tutorial at the Just Us Girls blog.

Using the Flower Layers Originals Die, I strayed from the tutorial a bit & cut about 10 layers of white tissue. I then inked the edges of the 3 sets of 'layers' with each of the 3 colors of ink. Once I crumpled it a bit & fastened it down with a clear rhinestone brad, I took a paint brush dipped in the inks and brushed it up with more ink. I thought that was a little faster than using the brayer. the dsp is Rich Razzleberry Patterns and the ribbon is the reverse side of the Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot grosgrain.

Bye for now...

DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS TREAT / Mojo #110 & EMCC...

I saw another use for the ornament punch today... a cute flower!

I paired the Mojo Sketch #110 with a color challenge from Embellish Magazine.

I used the set Delightful Decorations, along with the matching Ornament punch to make the flower. Since the flower was too big to use the 1 3/4" circle punch & center it, I had to use a slightly larger circle nestability to punch the circle for the treat cup to fit through.

Thanks for stopping in!

AUTUMN THANKS / CQC4 & 2S4Y #38...

You ever get your hands on a stamp set you just want to use again & again?

This week's colourQ challenge uses nice fall-ish colors... yay! This is my favorite time of the year! I paired it with Kazan's Sketch #38 this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I sorta rotated & mirrored the sketch.

Again, I've used Stampin' Up!'s Autumn Splendor stamp set... ahhh ~ I just love it! Besides stamping the white background with the leaves, I also stamped the die cut leaves a little as well. The cut out leaves are made with the Big Shot Leaves #2 Originals Die. I've also used Holiday Best, a level 1 hostess set, for the sentiment. The Old Olive DSP layer is from Cottage Wall. I finished the card with Bravo Burgundy 1/4 in. grosgrain and some orange bling!

Thanks so much for stopping in...

DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS / EBKCC9 & FTL #65...

Just a quick card tonight...

Julie's Easy Breezy Kewl color challenge this week is getting an early jump on Christmas... and I thought it would go nicely with the Clean and Simple sketch.

Hope your weekend was a great one!

MERRY PUMPKINS / CQC#3 & TESC#88...

Halloween is almost here... and then these fun colors go away til next year!

I played along with Taylor's sketch this week... so cute! And the colors are frm this week's colourQ... whose challenge ends Sunday @ midnight - so there's still time to play along!

This Stampin' Up! set is called The More the Merrier, and is a hostess level 3 set. Again, the background 'dsp' is actually punched circles... I was watching last night's Medium, and punching away! Hubby said ..."how many circles do you need?"... exactly 56 for this card!

Hope your weekend is full of fun!

BELLA BLEU WEDDING / PEC #37...

Cards for weddings are always fun... I actually made this one last night...

... but apparenlty Blogger thought I needed to go to bed at 1 am instead & refused to let me upload my pics! I did need the sleep... and couldn't believe it had gotten so late!

We have a wedding this weekend & I thought this week's Pink Elephant Challenge sketch was too perfect for this card! I saw this 'cake' on someone's blog yesterday & thought it was so smart looking, I really do wish I could remember where I saw it... if you think I saw it on your blog, please email me or leave a comment!

I used Bella Bleu DSP, which I actually bought for this card... so pretty! The 'cake' is made from Whisper White card stock that I embossed with a texture plate inked with So Saffron. Actually I inked the plate once and ran 2 sheets of card stock through. I used the second sheet that I embossed, since the color was closer to Very Vanilla at that point. I then punched 3 different squares out, rounded the top edges, and glued them together. Then I used the grosgrain ribbon to edge the bottoms of each layer. I popped the whole 'cake ' up on dimensionals, then added the Prima flowers & placed pearls at the center of each.

Thanks so much for looking!

THANK YOU KINDLY / SSSC #40...

Here's a quick, 15 minute card... just have lots of buttons handy!

I played along with Karen's sketch this week... too cute!

I used Bella Bleu DSP for the little squares & the papers on the left side... so pretty! The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! also, called Thank You Kindly.

Bye for now...

FUN & FAST CHRISTMAS / CTD #65 & FTL #64...

I know it might be too early for Christmas, but...

When I saw the colors for this week's Color Throwdown, I immediately thought of Christmas! I decided to pair it with the Fall-to-Layout, which is such a nice, simple layout.

I used Fun & Fast Notes, watercolored the tree & added some 'bling'! The tree is popped up from the little frame it's on. The bottom half of the background are circles I punched from Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery & Whisper White & they're sitting on a base of Purely Pomegranate, which is retired in the US. You could substitute it with Rose Red, which is very similar, just lighter.

Until tomorrow...

TRENDY TREES II / ACT7 & MOJO 109...

Still waiting for leaves to turn in Alabama... decided I'd just have to stamp some - lol!

I played along with Stacey's color challenge this week, it's been a LONG TIME! She totally re-vamped her color challenges & site while I was falling victim to morning sickness and not stamping for a few months. Her new look is F-A-B!!! I also loosely based this card on the Mojo sketch this week. I do try to 'color in the lines' and follow the challenges more closely, but it doesn't always work out...

You ever get into a rut/groove where you try a technique & kinda get hooked on it for a while? Well, all this faux quilting & peiced together backgrounds has been so much fun the last few days! I used Trendy Trees for this card, the Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive dsp is from Cast-a-Spell, and the Kraft dsp is from a previous hostess paper sampler.

Thanks for looking & see you tomorrow!
