"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

FLYING BIRTHDAY GIRL / MPS #18 & CCC #53...

Isn't this gal a little cutie? Today's card is a first on so many levels...

In my blog hopping, I happened across a super cute digi stamp image by Michelle Perkett, and like I've said so many times, I HAD to have it - lol! Michelle also has a challenge on her blog to make a side step card... so this is my first attempt at it! She linked to a great tutorial on Julie Davison's blog for the side step card. Julie also has a lot of other awesome tutorials - I'll be visiting her again! I also checked out the Copic Color Challenge for the first time... and I happened to have the colors from their challenge this week, so I played along.

This is also my first time making an acetate card... I think I bought a bunch of acetate last year & am now just getting around to using it... I'm such a supply pack rat! The image is from Michelle Perkett, the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I printed the image a few times & flipped one copy, so that I could cut out extra clouds to use on the steps... I think it turned out cute! My grandmother's birthday is Sunday... I think she'll love this!

Have a great night!

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE / 2S4Y #46 & SR #8...

Nope - not out of my mind... just out of my comfort zone! But what's the point of a challenge anyway?!?

On first glance at the colors of this week's challenge over at Stampin' Royalty, my instinct was to run. Very far. But then I thought I should probably give it a go... and I remembered this awesome stamp I got in my monthly kit from Unity, and realized it was perfect!!! The sentiment is from a different Unity stamp... but I only used the word 'sunshine' the top part is my handwriting. Of course, not just any layout would do... I started on one sketch challenge & then realized it wasn't going to work, so I decided to use the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You, and realized they were a match made in heaven... if I tweaked it a little.

Thanks so much for looking ~ bye for now!

HOPPY EGG-CELLENT EASTER / DCBD #166 & Mojo #127...

Easter has always been a favorite holiday for many reasons, forgiveness, redemption... the ultimate gift of God's love! And it doesn't hurt that the candy around Easter is awesome, too! I'm 2 bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs to the wind already & it's still February! Obviously, I didn't give up chocolate for Lent...

I loved the colors today at Diva Coffee Break Designs, they're super yummy! I tohught I'd do a quick card whiloe the kiddos are napping, clothes and dishes are washing, and I actually HAVE a minute! The Mojo sketch was sweet & simple this week, so it was a good match & I actually simplified it a little more!

The stamp set is retired from Stampin' Up!, called Egg-cellent Easter... it's too cute not to drag out & use! I paper-pieced the bunny's clothes & colored the rest with Copics.

Gotta go try to do one more card...

TEMPTATION / CD #57 & C4C #25...

Have you checked out today's Color Dare? Riley has some cool new colors for this week...

I love any kind of red, and I definitely love Kiwi Kiss... so the colors at the Color Dare this week were super fun! It's been a little while since I played along with Crazy 4 Challenges, so I used their sketch this week... and whiloe it wasn't a square (lol!), it was still pretty terrific!

The image is from Shirley's 2 Girls, who have now gone digital with their stamps, by the way... This was a real stamp, though! Although I didn't do it with this image, one of the pros of real stamps is easier paper-piecing, but a pro of digital is easier storage! I guess I'm pretty torn between the two!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

BIG PRESENT / CQC #21 & MTSC #62...

I've been looking for the right layout for this image & Mercy had it this week...

These are the newest funky colors over at the colourQ this week, paired with a super sweet sketch by Mercy! I've really been lovin' square cards lately... especially is they also have a circle in them!

Here's that little sweetie again, a Pure Innocence image by Heather Ellis. I've desparately been trying to get my hands on the little girl with the Easter basket, but the last time I got an email saying it was back in stock, within an hour or so it was all sold out again - it's driving me crazy! I MUST HAVE IT!!!

Have a great day!

SWEET BABY CARD / SSSC #57, IIC #30 & YNSC #10...

My friend Brandy is having a baby in a couple weeks, so I made this cute card for her shower on Friday...

I loved Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch this week, I thought it'd be perfect for this card! The papers are from October Afternoon, called Ducks in a Row. The image is paper-pieced, using a retired set from Stampin' Up!, called Year After Year. There are 2 other challenges out there that this quealified for, both were themes of using spring colors - Inky Impressions and Your Next Stamp.

It's late - time for bed... Jeff & the kids went to bed hours ago...

Bye for now!

WHIMSICAL BELLA TOILE / ACT #18 & CPS #155...

Wow - aren't these colors amazing? I L-O-V-E them...

My friend Stacey provided these gorgeous colors this week, Act #18 of the weekly Curtain Call Color Challenge! If you love color as much as I do, you'll have to check out her challenge posted each Sunday! The sketch over at Card Positioning Systems is really cool this week, too! I may have to play along with this more than once this week!

The stamped panel on this card was made by clear embossing the Bella Toile background stamp, by Stampin' Up!, onto Whisper White paper & then sponging the colors over it. I inked the sentiment, Whimsical Words, with Stampin' Write markers to get a multi-colored effect.

Thanks for dropping by!

CHOCOLATE BUNNY / DCBD #165, JUGS #21 & TPE #54...

Anyone who knows me, knows I can't resist a sweet, chocolate bunny! Especially if it's a stamp...

Diva Coffee Break Designs have a great sketch this week, and I combined it with the very delectable colors at Just Us Girls. Over at the Pink Elephant, the Recipe Challenge was to use ribbon! Almost all my cards could be entered into this one - lol!

This cute little bunny is from Stampin' Up!, Chocolate Bunny. The sentiment is from a set called Well Scripted. The dsp is Cottage Wall. I put a little wreath of flowers around his neck, with small pearls in the centers. And it's hard to tell, but he's stamped with Chocolate Chi[ craft onto Close to Cocoa & clear embossed to make him shiny!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

BLOOMING BUTTON BITS / EBK #16 & FTL #79...

Here's a quick card... I found a used climber & slide for Alex & we've been playing outside today! It's been SOOOO nice - the temperature was 66 degrees, yay! Hard to believe there was snow on the ground a week ago!

I felt bad for missing Julie's last Easy Breezy Kewl color challenge, so I had to make sure to play along with this one - aren't the colors fab? Since the colors were so nice, I paired them with the Fall-to-Layout, so cute & simple! Go check out Julie's challenge if you have the time, she always picks great colors!

I used Papertrey Ink's Blooming Button Bits for this card & decided to make my own buttons using Stampin' Up!'s dsp & the Buttons #5 Sizzlets die. The tag was made using SU!'s Lots of Tags die. I picked up the embossing folder this past week during a pilgramage to Hobby Lobby - I bought 6 embossing folders while I was there - yipee!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

THINKING OF YOU / USSIS #43 & CTD #80...

Well, it's been a very long week... but only 3 more until my maternity leave is over - ughhh, it's gone by so fast!

Believe it or not, I was a little perplexed by this week's Unscripted Sketch... but I think I pulled it off! I used the colors from the Color Throwdown, I thought they were intriguing!

I had some paper that contained 2 of the colors, it's from Cosmo Crcket. The flower is made of vellum. Using the flower nesty, I cut 3 different sizes - 2 of the largest & 1 each of the 2 smaller sizes. I crumpled them up & sponged the edges with Bravo Burgundy. The center brad of the flower is one of Stampin' Up!'s Build A Brads. The vine was made using the Swirly Sizzlets strip die.

Thanks for stopping by & don't forget to go play along with the Unscripted Sketch this week!
